There is no telemetry and no alerting. Today's ethernet failure was noticed only because
someone happened to SSH in; had nobody looked, the board would have sat with eth0 down
indefinitely.

Available and worth exporting: four thermal zones, load, memory, eMMC life_time and
pre_eol_info, uptime, and whether each of the three access paths is answering.

The important half is alerting on absence. The characteristic failure here is "the board is
gone" — an on-board agent cannot report that. Something external has to notice silence.

Done when

  • health metrics reach Home Assistant
  • an alert fires when the board stops reporting, not only when a metric is bad
